I have the same board. Havn't had that problem though. I am wondering if the power switch etc is on the correct pins perhaps there is a short givint the signal to turn off. Really not sure what else could be wrong.

Don't worry, this happens nearly everytime I've installed a new motherboard, normally something minor...

Hmm sure theres not anything shorting the motherboard out, stray back pins/standoffs or anything?

Extra power to the video card plugged in?
And what ratings your power supply? 8800 is a greedy git!

psu is only a cheap 600watter from maplin, till i can afford a decent one.

im going to remount the motherboard and see what happens, it was working last nite though.

Also check the fans are working and plugged in the correct sockets, bios won't let the computer start if its plugged in the wrong socket.

check the bios to be working - if you get no error beeps and its not working then the bios is probably narked - take the battery out for a couple of minutes to reset it.

Yeah I should have said that, bios and dodgy standoffs seem to cause half these problems...

built it outside the case on foam, fans spin for 1 second and lights come up then immediatly no powerm tried removing cmos battery for a 10 mins then try again, no avail. tried resetting cmos, tried build with bare minimum on :(

update

ok just tried booting with only the mobo, no ram/cpu/gpu, tried nto boot and stayed on everything working (well not working as there no components, but the machine stayed on, will add cpu now and see, then ram/.

almost certainly....
does ya card have 2 power connector..or just one?
ps...told you to try with everything out...its a matter of elimination.... 8)

do you have ne other cards to try in it...just in case its a dodgy slot..

or better still...... remove the opower from you hd's/dvd drive... and try boot then..see it it stays on..

That PSU is likely to be the problem mate. I'd recommend anything but an unbranded PSU for a start and 620Watt+ should be ok... but seriously. Unbranded PSUs... don't touch 'em with a barge pole. :(

Problem 1 = you bought an intel chip!
Problem 2 = you bought a nvidia gpu!
Solution = scrap the lot and get decent components to replace the shoddy crap = sorted :)

ps j/k = drunken xmas so much more fun ;)
