blue screen of death ='(

please help

Other symptoms: when I close the laptop lid and allow it to go into screensaver when I open it up it goes to about 90% zoom and I have to go into the gfx card manager, change the screen resolution and then change it back to make it stop. It won't work on normal windows settings and I somehow found the zoom utility and changed all the settings to 'never ever ever ever come on ever' and it still happened.

Possible causes: I installed crysis, it should work on my pc from the specs on the back and I did an online test to see and it said it would work well on low settings.
Got it, installed it, went to play it, my pc literally died. It was on but everything was black and nothing would respond.

I then went to download new drivers which I downloaded and attempted to install but which, according to gfx card manager failed to install [still said it was the old version], tried crysis again and it worked but looked genuinely horrid and was very cranky so I gave up any hope of playing it.

Other notes: The blue screen of death may have happened before the whole crysis incident in which case bsod and the zoom thing are unrelated issues and I have no idea how bsod came about.

Computer: Dell Inspiron 6400 running windows XP Home. Intel Core duo 2ghz blabla, 2gig RAM, ATI mobility Radeon X1400 gfx card....

!!upon going into device manager to look for my graphics card info. I find 'other devices' 'BCM2045' with exclamation mark and 'The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28)' !! which is apparently [google] my bluetooth device, which I know for a fact hasn't had a program/drivers since I reinstalled windows as the original program wasn't on the reinstall discs I received.

Hope someone can be bothered to read that/has any idea what/how many problems are going on and can help......

Thanks in advance,

Tom.

Try a system restore back to before you messed with the drivers :)
Then pop all the windows updates on...
You should be able to download the bluetooth stack from Dell using your service tag, that will fix the other driver error.

If you are still getting BSODs, you can either reload the entire PC, or try a new stick of RAM in it, as it is most likely a driver/memory error

Format, reinstall.

Never...ever... buy Dell again. :(

Good luck!
