Ok so atm I'm playing around with CPU temps and trying to keep my fans on Low speed and have just found my CPU fan speed toggle thing so have made it 1700 RPM (instead of 2500). But now I think the temp has probably gone up a bit and this could affect performance :/?

The temp is hovering around 33-38, idle, is that ok or should I up the fan speeds :(?

e4400 (2ghz)
Windows XP
Case - Antec P180

Oh and here's a pic of Speedfan..not really liking the Fire symbol being next to the Core, but hey.

as for core 1 and 0 (the ones u want to look at) i'd have thought about 20 - 30... and anything up to 45 under load...

Oh and after some googling It seems most people's idle at 40c and go to around 60 under load, so I guess 33ish is fine :D woot it's dead silent now too, cant hear it at all.

that should b fine for ur graphics card (core) as they tend to run hot... mine runs that idle... and its surpose to be like it  (goes to about 70 underload, just came off cod4 and its at 62...) u can change the tempreture warning on it to what ever temp u want... cant remember how to though...

The C2D chips were designed to take heat quite well... like up to 75C and then worry sort of temps. Not quite as durastic as the nVidia cores obviously, but as far as CPUs go thats pretty warm.

read that mine e6750 or something... can go up to 75'c and then it starts to damage it... but would rather it not get that hot tbh as my computer is kinda like a oven anyway...

another thing is ur computer is between 2 peices of wood as mines ontop of the desk... so temps would b different...
