Don't use any programs or software that runs in Windows to overclock, always do it on the BIOS if you can, had nothing but big problems doing it within Windows. I've got a Q6600 running fine at 3.2ghz up from 2.4. Exactly how to do it depends on motherboard, RAM etc... Google can be your friend if you want a guide on how to do it. Edit: should also say, be very careful if you do it, make sure you've got a decent cooler strapped on top of the chip, not the standard Intel ones or you won't get very far. Suggest you do a lot of reading before going for it.

Same as mine.
I just increased the FSB, but if you read those links you'll get the idea. Mines the old 6600 2.4, but it runs without much effort at 3
Searching that forum will tell you more.

(even tho stock coolers are usually good enough for a minor boost... you can damage you mobo and cpu...... for the extra gain... see if its worth it.... ps...e6600 best chip for overclocking.... can get 2.4@ 3.5 on an asus rampage... but..... when playing games.... temps will sore.... so i stick with 3.0ghz stable.

Just remember - increase the clock slowly in small increments and test for stability. Go for broke and it will be
