does anyone know how to tune a tv card?

want to allow my virgin media box to plug into my tv card... have it connected up to my computer via a cable, and a cable from the box to the back of the other box/splitter then to virgin media... the techy who put it in the new box and left the old one said it would connect to a TV card... but mine isnt working... any ideas?

think its hte T-500

no optins like hauppage have... select ariel..or cable.
