without looking at charts i would imagine the core2 package that is 10 quid more would be faster mate

edit: This site http://www.cpubenchmark.net/ puts the Athlon quite some way above the Core2, although I don't know how/what they test.

It was RAM. Super flashy crucial Ballistix stuff, with LEDs and everything....
At least 3 out of the four sticks fecked.
18 months+ of BSODs etc.
Let this be a lesson..

..to me, mostly, I'd imagine.
