me mates computer is setup in raid0 and 1 of the disks is about to die

he is a total pc noob and i dont have time to sort it

is there a easy program he can take an image of the system with and copy it to a usb drive so i can talk him through installing a new HD and setting it to raid1 and then copy the OS etc back over so he doesnt have to re install everyrthing

looks promising - how once the raid array is made do i copy all the data over - it doesn look like a boot program if you get me

dont know if the program does the configuration on the flash drive for u.

use barts http://www.nu2.nu/mkbt/ to sort the usb stick out for boot

on the other hand. did some googling on raid imaging and people say this is teh shit http://www.acronis.eu/homecomputing/products/trueimage/


i know ghost does a ok job but its norton tho and norton sucks black dicks

I use Acronis, not for raid though, and its pretty good. You can create a boot disk from within the program and restore the image from that.

cheers casp - sounds perfect i will check it out
the main problem is i willl have to support what ever over the phone
still he manage to flush the bios in under 3 days :twisted:

Can't you just copy everything off onto an external HD?
