I'm thinking about upgrading my PC a bit. Espc my GFX card is shite (8600 GT)

This is the spec of my current PC (surprise it's from HP :P):
hxttps://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/do ... 93719#N269

I would like to keep the upgrade as cheap as possible but still to be able to run future games like BF3 but dont have to be at highest setting.

Can I keep what I got but upgrade GFX card and PSU (and maybe memory)?

Also if thats possible does any of you know a lot about the current budget gfx cards? I'm looking in the price range of around £55-85. I can get the radeon 4670 to 5770 for that price here.

Card - G3D Mark - Price - Price per G3D point
Radeon HD 5850 - 2,499 - £99.95 - 4p
Radeon HD 6770 - 1,450 - £76,99 - 5p
Mine (GeForce 8800 GTS 512 - 1,010 - £151.99 - 7p)
Radeon HD 5570 - 761 - £62.39 - 8p
GeForce 8600 GT - 386 - £46.79 -12p

5850 is bargain at £99 though.

Can't really sort out the lag at this point as I can't change to a wired connection.
But some of the lag (on my own screen) is also due to the GFX struggling.

I would like to wait to upgrade untill BF3 comes out but I already struggle to play most games so I either have to live with it and not really play untill BF3 comes out or upgrade now :s

Where did you find this comparison mate?
I cant seem to find a benchmark with 8600gt compared to the modern cards.

Sadly our prices here are different 5850 costs a lot more the cheapest places.

Radeon HD 5850 - £145
Radeon HD 6770 - £98
GeForce 8800 GTS 512 - Cant find that anymore here
Radeon HD 5570 - 761 - £51
GeForce 8600 GT - 386 - Cant find this anymore

Radeon HD 5770 - £86 (not sure what place this has compared to the other cards)

I will consider buying those of you mate. If I wait untill BF3 to udgrade I might as well make a new pc (or swap most parts) and use water cooling.

My office space is combined with my bedroom so I tend to get annoyed listening to the fans when I want to sleep. So I have been thinking that it should be water cooling next time I make a new PC.

Think about how much you want for those cards.

you should check the total power draw including the new card as well, your psu only delivers 300 watt, which might not be enough.
