Anybody know how to get rid of Trojan:JS/Medfos.B, Microsoft security essentials
quarantines it but I don't seem to be able to get rid of it, any help would be much appreciated.

Have also tried: Microsoft Safety Scanner & Microsoft Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool
All of which should get rid of it (apparently  )

I think most AV vendors offer free virus removal (I could be wrong though)

while on the subject of internet nastiness, disable java and update flash
