I've got two of the maxtor externals, including the one tjolbi posted....verr good hard drives but with no on off switches, and only my mac actually spins them down when it turns off....

Not sure of the quality/durability of the desktop variety. Cant you just replace the hard drive in the myBook or is it all stuffed.
Newer Motherboards have e-SATA ports and you can buy add on cards for em as well. I would try, but I cant get the damn thing open! ![Laughing ](./images/smilies/icon_lol.gif) I'll take another look at it tonight, but from what I could see, there was no screws, and I got to the point of pulling where I had to stop for fear of snapping the case.
I think he means externally mounted, on the back of the PC - no need to open case.
Mine is snuggled up with the usb ports around the back. There are two ports, one is the eSata and another is something else... just says 1394 or something ![Laughing ](./images/smilies/icon_lol.gif)

Can transfer at 800mbps which is fairly good
Most people use it for video editing etc..
Due to the large files and other reasons, haven't looked into it much.
