This is a bit far off, possibly next year kind of thing. But I'm interested in purchasing a small boat, just large enough to fish off and at least carry two people.. The problem is, what to get, and what you need to be able to use one (Any licenses etc). Any help from you guys would be appreciated. |

Can you row a boat, gently down a stream . Have you any idea how to sail? I think you might need a license for a motor boat though or maybe get a Canoe |

Well a rowing boat is simple enough, just need the practice. But I live by the sea, and I be thinking about how strong the current is. Sailing, I guess my uncle could teach me how to sail, he's been fishing for a long time, but I'm not sure if he actually uses sails or a motor. |

I think it's less a license tat you need and more the knowledge of what youre doing, coz its dangerous out there. |

Yeah I know, don't think I'll be rading the Isle of wight with it. Just something could stick to the coast with.. in fact I probably wouldn't go that far away with it. I simply like floating in my boating. |

Just make sure you don't let the current take hold of you otherwise you could be in trouble avoid sea walls like the plague, avoid rocks like the plague and try and avoid crashing into swimmers |

I'm not sure yet, like I said this will probably be for the next year, by the time I would get the money together. Think cheap. |

A smal motor. around 20horse powers, dont know what you call that in england. Here its 20hk-. any way. If there is open sea you are using it, you want a motorboat that can get you to land if a storm comes, and i promise you, thay can come very fast. A 12-15 foot boat should be enough. For licens i dont know, here in norway you dont need one as long as its not a buildt in motor and are older then 16. If you are buying, make sure that the foundation of the boat has no damage and that the foam rubber that is inside the body of the boat, is not wet. If it is, dont buy. And get a motor with a electrical start, a bit more expencive but less work. found a link for you ht0tp://www.docksidereports.com/boat_specifications.htm |

Stfu I've been wanting a boat ever since I came to Portsmouth, about 11 years ago, and most of my family have had experience around them, my uncle, cousin, grandad owned boats, then there's the others who be in the Royal Navy & Marines. Thanks Slefve. |
