i have a 3700 cpu.
my dads offered me £50 for it if i buy a new one.
so i was wondering for £50 would a 4000 be much better or just £100 the 4400x2?

the a 4000 is just an overclocked 3700i think....yeah, they have the same cache size
the 4400 is two 3700's on the same chip
so go for the 4400

Buy a new AM2 motherboard and AM2 CPU...Socket 939 is slowly dying.

Aye, when it comes to it, it'll be harder to sell the 939 CPU. I got £40 for my year old OEM 3000 (939), considering they were selling for £60 brand new with warranty and fan, I was lucky.

get the 4400 x2 but if you really want DDR2 then get an intel Core Duo 
i have the 4400 x2, but 12/18 months down the line, its gonna be core duo, not unless this quad cpu thing is any goood
intel/nvidia ftw

ill be gettin the 4400x2.
as i said i dont want to buy a whole new mobo/mem etc just dad want to upgrade cheaply, so i thought get a 939 mobo have my cpu on the cheap and with the money ill jsut get a new cpu.
