Post subject: | Most Probably Buying New GFX Card |
Ok so i'm off to uni in september and i'm not paying £110+ for a tv license that I won't use as not taking tv. but according to the stupid rules.... Quote: You need a TV Licence to use any television receiving equipment such as a TV set, set-top boxes, video or DVD recorders, computers or mobile phones to watch TV programmes as they are being broadcast
And as my pc has a graphics card with a tv tuner i'm going to sell that to my brother and buy a new one so i needs some help just a couple of guidelines though 1)can't have tv tuner 2)thinking budget £100-£130 ish 3)have pci express x 16 slot btw Any advice would be appreciated Thanks |

no if you have equipment to play television which is being broadcasted. my pc has a tv tuner so technically i could use it to watch tv and therefore would need a licence. if your pc doesn't have a tv tuner you're fine |

I dont reckon the t.v. man would be smart enough to check your pc to be honest..they're not gonna open it up and examine the hardware.. just say it's a pc.. go away or like Vivion does on the young ones...eat it.. what is your current card btw? nvida 6600? |

Wrong, a TV licence is for any DEVICE that transmits television transmissions... |
