£199 ;)

Haven't heard them, but have used Samson equipment in the past. It does the job. Presume your talking about the 5a's.

I've heard the yamaha mp5 - nice and tight for your budget

£200 a pair.

If you could afford it - and want active's, you'll fall in love with these babies - for around £350-£400 tho!

I dont use active monitors - so i cant recommend mine :( which are v sweet....HHB Circle 5's

If you have a hifi amp - i'd be tempted to spen the whole budget on passive speakers - and upgrade the amp later......your gonna get better drivers for the money and a more reliable pair of speakers in the long term....

i use a Kam performace amp, use Warfdale monitors atm but the left one is on its last leggs and the warrenty ended last year.

i really want the PMC's but £1000 is too much.

i could go for passive i suppose, best have a long hard think few hundred quid is alot when you dont have a job lol

Cheers colt

btw - i know these are mainly hifi use speakers - but check em out - they have a studio range as well - and i've heard them, they rock!!!

http://www.podspeakers.com/

couldn't find the ones i've heard - sorry ! :(

edit: It was the mini pod i heard:

Very 'true' sound which made them distinct from other HiFi speakers i've heard - and much more like studio monitors for the same price.. And nice bass/punch - £390 tho!
