Got some choices....

Feel free to post a better laptop for around the price/post up any places where I can get them cheaper....

Keeping in mind I need this for Internet, gaming, photoshop, and other general stuff. :)
You know basically the stuff I'm normally into around forum, bit of programming(web design mostly), perhaps hammer editor if I get into it again.

But most important is being able to get access to internet and lag free gaming.

Battery life etc is a plus. :)

Hewlett Packard DV6231 15.4" TFT AMD Turion 64 x2 TL-50 Vista Notebook / Laptop

I'm quite liking this one, good laptop for £500......any reason not to go for this one?

Thank ye kindly.

One vote? :(

I do like the fourth one, a little more expensive but is the extra £200 worth it?

now - the fourth one does look nice, but I've always found Sony to be the most unhelpful company I've ever had the misfortune to deal with :|

it all depends on how long it's supposed to last you with everything (as in before you get the other pc to take over the more demanding stuff)

you don't want to have an intel bla bla accelerator as a graphics card ... unless it's not used for graphical things whatsoever (i'd read a review or so about the graphics cards to see which one's better and by how much)

you need 1 gig of ram aswell tbh everything's much slower with only 512mb :/

but like i said above, it all depends on how long you'll need the power hungry features and at what price you want it...

Well it's got to last a good while, with good lag free gaming.

I will be replacing it with a main rig but then I'll still use the laptop, when I just want to go potter about somewhere. (Garden for example..... :P *ahem* scottish weather + laptop ftw).

I also need it to perform well at photoshop etc also, as I'll be taking it to work for lunch times etc. (incredibly boring hour without a car to get into town with)

So it needs to be a general all rounder tbh, with a good graphics kick and yes 1gb of RAM.

As I said it will be replaced in a few months hopefully but it will remain my secondary comp. (get the network going on them, using it for net/msn/music etc during gaming etc)

No more opinions? :(

I'd like to get one ordered when I go home tonight......I'm guessing it's a toss up between the 3rd and 4th one.....

3rd one's nice but it's 80gb hard drive, and has shared video memory....I heard thats a bad thing.

4th one is nice, but is the extra £200 worth it over the 3rd laptop on list..... ?
A lot more hard drive space but theres something about it that makes my unsure of it.....it's listed as a buisness laptop and I'm not too sure on the processor....

(Also portable HDD's solve the space problem)
(And are Hewlett Packard not a better brand to go over Sony? )

I'v never really bought or used a laptop much....so kind of stumped when it comes to them.

Help!

Also just found this one
