well its an LG, so it should be, though it does seem a little cheap for a 19" ws

I never actually posted back, I got the Samsung Syncmaster 226BW 22' Widescreen (16:10). Lovely monitor can't fault it, but it does flash every now and then when running 3D Apps. Think that's down to the dual screen though.
Anyone looking for a monitor, I would highly recommend this one. I'm not sure what pannel this is (because its a newer model that doesn't mention it on the tag or maintenance menu) but the picture is SUPERB. You really do notice the crisp colours and the pin point accuracy. Also from what I've read, not many people seem to get these delivered with dead pixels.
Mine was in perfect condition, even after I dropped it in its box because the handle hole in the cardboard ripped.

The contrast ratio is how bright the brightest possible pixel is compared to the darkest possible pixel. Because of some cheeky way in which they measure it, it'll say something like 3000 (dynamic), its basically 700. 1000 does mean 1000 though.
LG really broke the mold on that one. Although the LG 228WA (Ebuyer currently have the LG L226WTQ (£217.92)(22" TFT Widescreen 1680x1050 300cd/m2 3000:1 2ms 0.282 mm DVI-D VGA Silver) which is probably very similar) slightly beats the Samsung 226BW (£229.95) (22" TFT Monitor 1680x1050 3000:1 300cd/m2 2ms VGA/DVI Black 3 Years Warranty) for features they seem to be two of the best cost to size monitors on the market. Although saying that if your going for an LG get the LG 22LS4R it has HDMI
PC World:
Samsung 226BW £229.99 inc VAT
LG M228WA 22" £249.99 inc VAT
At the moment I'm still getting closer to getting the 226BW.I still need to convince myself though..
LG 228
Samsung 226

using the M228WA as we speak...
but HDMI is just DVI with a different physical package, and they're both HDCP compliant

I'm sure they're both good, but I went for the LG because it matches my other LG...
and another thing - neither of them....thats over 3 million pixels...have dead pixels
well, there was one, but its gone.

I got the Samsung 226BW (as you know, but meh..) and all I can say is that the colours are just beautiful. So crisp and clear compared to other monitors I've seen. I don't know if the LG is the same, but if it is, then go with the LG unless you prefer the style of the Samsung. (Samung ftw~)
And as for the sticky question... I have no idea...
