Post subject:  Pay as you go top up trick

I just bought a new phone and went to switch my old number onto my new SIM card, I rang up vodafone customer services and asked for my Porting Authorisation Code (PAC) this basically gives my new network the right to swap the number.

So i spoke to the PACman (lol  ) and he said...is there any reason for you leaving vodafone?? I said it was mainly because my new fone had 20 pounds credit on it for Tmobile and his response was "would you be persuaded to stay on Vodafone if we gave you 20 pounds credit??
and i was like eeerrrrm YEAH FO SHO!!!!!!

I didnt even need to give any details of my other network or new fone, so for all they knew i could have been lying through my teeth, so if your on vodafone and a bit short of credit try ringing 08700 776655 and press 3 then ask to request your PAC code

20 quid........for free! lubbly jubbly!

phone companies will usually do £50 benefit for PAYG, and £150 for contract, i went from O2 to T mobile and as i went to get my pac code, o2 offered me the N95 for free, that is a £450 handset at retail, and usually £130 on the contract that i was on. To keep your business they will do anything.

Just like Sky etc too. :)

Say your cancelling as you cant' stretch to it over the coming months or something.....6 months free......sky box broke, say you'll just cancel and they'll give you a new one. 8)

It's fraud, you are receiving compensation for an invalid cause.

They're yanking your chain, although the idea of intentionally trying to gain free credit by deception is bad, and why no-one is going to do it. However, you gained the credit legitametely, but obviously won't do it intentionally to get free credit in future.

Reminds me of AOL back on the dial up days. Had a months free trial, but it lasted 5 months in the end. Every time I tried to cancel, they'd give me another free month...

Worked, obviously, still with them :D
