3GHz is easy to reach even on the E6400. This one is running at 3.2GHz since I reapplied the paste. 8)

ive got the 36gb raptor for the sole reason that i wouldnt dl anything onto it.all my dl and games are on a 320gb and my old ide 120gb.

but to say they are a waste of money is garbage tbh :roll:

thanks for the input guys decided to go for the 74gb raptor gmar thanks.

Think its gonna be abit of a beast :)

final spec are :

quad 2.4 intel cpu

4gb corsair 800mhz ram

vista 32bit home premium

1GB ScanFX HD2900XT PCI-E gpu (this seems considerably more powerful than the 8800gtx for not much differance in price, and the board ive got supports cross-fire not sli)

WD 320gb Sata 2 main storage

WD 74gb Raptor for OS

700watt PSU

Asus P5W DH Deluxe i975X mobo

the 8800gtx is a much better card than the radeon.

the only thing its better than the gtx is in futuremark but in game the gtx beats it.

i would get the gtx if i were you :)

i have the same mobo as you,great board 8)


also your 4 gig will not be running at 4 gig and you would prolly be better with 2gig at dual channel.
