Don't bother buying it anyways... its only 1366x768... the quality won't look that great either to be perfectly honest. You want a 1920 x 1200 (might be 1080 on x axis...) either way... I've seen 46' for the same price with better resolution. :P

yeah mate as he said it is only a 768 res so it would be like running your PC in that resolution, it should be absolutely fine

crap quality... but large screen. In my honest opinion...

Quality > Screen Size.

Not enough info honestly, the spec should be ok, but you will be limited to 1366x768 and pretty much only that resolution, image degrades badly when you dont run at the native resolution.
However, does it have a dvi or vga input, i'm assuming it has a hdmi input which can be used ok with a pc, but there is better tv's out there for similer money which will do a much better job

K, possibly out of your price range, but a 1080p would be a lot better, but it must be a native 1080p, not1080i
1080p means 1920 by 1080 at 60 hz or 60 fps smoothly
1080i means 1920 by 1080 interlaced at app 25 to 30 hz which will appear jerky.

But it does sound like a good price for a 50" package deal
the best test is to get a laptop hooked up to it to test it before buying, you need to see it in action,

thats a good deal but i would get a smaller screen and make it 1080p.

you can get a 40" samsung 1080p for £800 and spend the extra on a decent 5.1.

for the price your paying... you could get a better one and cut the size a bit... and have good quality.

get this, weve had this running on a 1080P blu ray player, and it out performs any of the other 1080P tv's ESPECIALLY the sony, simon has it right, quality before size, and btw 50" tv's look ok in a shop but in a living room its a different story, they can completly dominate the room, which isnt that great, 40" is about the mazimum you should hav in a standard size room

oh and curry's smell :P

read this elsewhere as well.....

quote
I've just bought the 50PC55 (virtually identical to the 50PC56) from Empire Direct (£790) and the picture seems very good for a 'budget' 50 incher. The only issue I would comment on is the fan/capacitor buzz emanating from the rear of the set. It is very distracting and my wife says I should get it sorted or get a refund... During quiet moments it is beginning to be a real pain. Apparently most plasmas buzz to varying degrees.
