http://www.evesham.com/products/info.asp?e=90961217-ED62-41A4-8693-8E74B86F49E5 Seems like an ok deal, don't particularly need the DVD player cos the PS3 will be plugged into it anyway. But could always sell that and make the tv a little cheaperererer. |

That's the one bit that puzzles me. if the resolution is there, how come it can't make use of it? and would using a dvi-hdmi cable get around it? |

you could use a hdmi to dvi cable and run in 1920 x 1080 - you`d need a decent pc to power games at that though |

Only thing is, after reading the prices and checking my pulse at the same time, I figured this one here.... http://www.ebuyer.com/product/129151 for example slowed the thumping noise down a little. Not as big, not full HD, but a hell of a lot cheaper, and if you'd seen my new flat, not sure whether I'd fit that big a tv in anyway :S |

I use hdmi and 1080p with mine but it does allow 1080 though vga also so I am not sure if that is proof that it will work for sure. For some reason the component inputs don't work at all ay 1080. Go figure. |

the 1080 res will be upscalled probably. so if at all possible see it with a ps3 attached, its like a lcd monitor, it has a native resolution which always looks the best, but it can scale up to higher resolutions, but you can lose clarity. But that tv is a very good price, so just use your eyes and make your own judgement of the quality |

component cables can only carry signals up to 1080 interlaced, which is really the same as 720 resolution |
