no more expensive than 70 quid

they are called phono. and u will struggle to get one, a 3.5mm jack is pretty much the same as phono (will make no difference when playing p.c audio files). its v easy to get an adaptor. every sound card will have a 3.5mm, including mobo sound.

if your running AC97 inbuilt audio should be fine unless u have a bad boy stereo, even then it depends what file types your playing with what software etc. what speakers/sound system you got bud? you might find a soundcard is a waste of money

Tell him he's a nub if he wants one with the outputs when he could buy an adapter for about 3-4 pounds.

Also... if he wants punchy sound... get a Creative X-fi Extreme Music and some adapters. 8)
