http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B000 ... -1&seller= http://www.johnlewis.com/Gifts+and+Flow ... oduct.aspx (just incase one doesn't display properly, price is £599 though). I need a laptop, it's going to be up to a month for the Asus - I won't wait. So, looked for a small but cheap laptop (yes, small meaning small enough to fit in bag). Anyone reckon this is a reasonable price for a reasonably spec'd laptop? Should be powerful enough to do the work i am after (just programming, word processing - but on things like the bus!). Any input/thoughts welcome... or suggestions. Budget is tight, the price of this is very stretching... however, size is also very important as well - so I want it as small as possible! Any smaller dimensioned but well spec'd laptop suggestions are welcome |

Aye, was trying to get one of those for the past month - gave up since no-where has them in stock, and most places say 1 month til they get anymore. Well, apart from Toys'r'us who just say "We get deliveries every day, but we don't know what's on them - so we may get some tomorrow... we may not". After a week, i got bored. How that company can run like that I dunno Went for the TX1340 after giving it a quick road test - fell in love with it tbh. Been using the stylus as a pointing device (instead of mouse pad) and checking out the writing with it as well - getting moderately quick (will never be able to beat the typing speed, but it is fun to just write stuff out - and it's picking up the hand writing quickly). Whilst Toys'r'us did say they should have some Asus in stock today, I found it hard to decide between which to get (Asus or HP TX). Went with the HP just because I had last minute nerves about buying something that after I leave Uni may not get used much other than as a web browser or something along those lines. With the HP, it could replace my main computer (apart for gaming) quite easily - and is still very portable in comparison to other laptops. Whilst my pocket cried, and the price tag does sting - I'm confident I made the right choice (I think ). Indecisiveness and impulsiveness ftw! If the Asus had been in stock a month ago... Incidentally, i hear within the next 5 months there should be a bigger screen version of the Asus out, potentially with touch screen as well. Couldn't wait that long though, would have finished uni - removing the present needs for computing on the go |
