Right thats the list i have got up so far. Not 100% sure on the Mobo yet?

The PSU is just a thought. Not sure what PSU yet. Just needs to be a modular one ;) Im fussy.

Also Thought about getting a Antec p190 which comes with 2 PSU's built in.

Could i get yer views people.

(Side note, i have thought about the new CPU's that are being released but when i price a pc up then it seems to come to over £1300 so im not entirly keen on that  )

Most hd on-board sound systems these days are better than the creative xi-fi garbage i wasted money on, lol.

Or even a motherboard

Not sure about the pricing of the upcoming intel chips but that quad is more than powerful enough for anything.

egads you are throwing your money away there you realise?

you can get a gig of perfectly good ram (corsair xms 5400 as it happens) for £9.99 stick

I'll grant you that the raptor is good in some respects but gets beaten marginally by the spinpoints and deathstars on quite a few benchmarks - worth checking through tomshardware.com; you can slash the price in half and get three times the capactiy...150GB won't last you any time

the PSU is also...not an antec....but hey....I'd say 850W is exessive, but it depends how much other random crap you're going to put in there - there are calculators lurking around on the internet that'll tell you what you need (or you can roughly work it out yourself)...see what PSUs the antec p190 comes with though, could be a good bargain :)

Thats the latest update to it. Decided to go for the new CPU as i got the price down, Motherboard also supports DDR3 if i ever decide to upgrade.

Still not sure on if the raptor drive is worth it.

Personally I would wait until the end of March when Nvidia is meant to be releasing the rest of there 9 Series GFX cards.

9800GT GTX etc

This'll probs push the price down on the 8 series quite a lot

the most vital for a speedy running once u have a reasonable amount of RAM/CPU. My P.c literally takes 30 seconds to boot to vista, then granted it has to load all the other crap from the 7200rpm HDD but still. If you have the extra cash the bigger and more raptors you can get the better

10,000rpm and 7200rpm it seems like a jump but its not that much and you would save a fair bit going for a 7200.

Will be watching this thread to see what you get, planning on getting a new pc if i get these summer jobs and il be asking ye about it johns :P
