Post subject:  Sky cancellation

Just some info to share with everyone on this fine community. I just phoned to cancel sky (to move to Virgin) and the bloke offered me free sky plus and installation (worth £100) and also to reduce the price of my package too.

People with sky now might be able to get themselves some free sky plus out of this.

My conversation was:

Me "I want to cancel my sky services"
Bloke "May I ask why that is"
Me "I can get it for cheaper elsewhere and Sky Sports and all the tv channels are pretty brutal"
Bloke "Could I change your mind if I offered you free sky plus with free installation?"
Me "Not really"
Bloke "What if I reduced the price of your TV package (Sky Sports) as well?"
Me "No, i'm alright thanks"
Bloke "So if i offered you your current TV package half price for six months and free sky plus with installation i couldn't get you to change your mind?"
Me "No thanks"

Just might help someone here get something for free/cheap if you've got the balls to do a fake cancellation.

I did have phone, broadband and TV with sky mind you and my bill was £48 pm. I dont know if this affects it much.

Yup, good way to get them to replace faulty hardware/send an engineer out for free also.

Just tell them you want to cancel, they'll get on it straight away. 8)

Got a decent deal £19 pm for TV, broadband and phone with EV box on the way. Beats £48 pm!

we cancelled sky in March this year... not missed it a single bit its utter shit...

what i found gross was that they take away your ability to watch already recorded program fbecause its part of their service ... just spitting their dummy out tbh...
