Right, just started college, getting student loan soon....time for a pc.
Im trying to be reasonable soo ive set my ceiling at £500 for the tower and all internals.

Ive made my own wee list of everything needed, what im after is for someone to let me know
that A - everything will actually work... and B - is everything on the list neccesary...if you can
find me better alternatives or save me money i would be grateful. all im after is CSS, trackmania...
generally older games on full settings...if it does that reasonably well, im happy. Ive selected that motherboard for the
crossfire thing....thinking ill buy another one of the gfx cards in the next couple months...
if theres a cheaper crossfire mobo that will do the job, that would be nice. Not budging on
the case....

soo here's my attempt -

CASE - Antec Nine Hundred 900 - http://www.ebuyer.com/product/118268 - £67.78
MOBO - DFI LANPARTY DK 790FX-M2RS - http://www.ebuyer.com/product/147767 - £89.99
PSU - Coolermaster RealPower 700W - http://www.ebuyer.com/product/134694 - £82.58
PROC - AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000+ (3GHz) - http://www.ebuyer.com/product/128510 - £64.95
GFX - Sapphire HD 3650 512MB DDR2 - http://www.ebuyer.com/product/140617 - £35.23
HDD - Samsung HD753LJ 750GB - http://www.ebuyer.com/product/139739 - £58.74
DVD - Samsung SH-D162 16x48x DVD-ROM - http://www.ebuyer.com/product/93815 - £12.87
DVDR - Optiarc AD-5200A-0B 20X DVD±RW - http://www.ebuyer.com/product/138750 - £14.36
RAM - Corsair 4GB Kit (2x2GB) DDR2 800MHz - http://www.ebuyer.com/product/130429 - £58.45

The total at the moment is sitting at £480...

soo aye, any help would be grately appreciated guys

well for starters u would only need 1 DVD/CD drive.... and only 2gb of ram to play those types of games... and unless ur planning on running vista... xp doesnt see more t han 3.5 or something like that... (i only have 2gb and its fine... loads fast etc...)

yer and that PSU does look overkill tbh... 650watt would be fine unless ur planning SLI on power hungry cards

right...i did wonder about the disk drives...soo there's 15 quid saved, ill change it to 2gb ram as
i will be running xp (get xp pro for free because my college course  )

im thinking i might scrap the idea of crossfire and just stick with the single gfx card i chose,
my mates pc runs all the games i play fine and that card is about 10 tims better than his.
that then means i can get a cheaper mobo (asus or gigabyte?) and a cheaper psu as mike said.

soo....revised list -

CASE - Antec Nine Hundred 900 - http://www.ebuyer.com/product/118268 - £67.78
MOBO - Gigabyte GA-MA78GM-S2H 780G - http://www.ebuyer.com/product/142347 - £55.34
PSU - Corsair 650W TX Series PSU - http://www.ebuyer.com/product/135514 - £60.25
PROC - AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000+ (3GHz) - http://www.ebuyer.com/product/128510 - £64.95
GFX - Sapphire HD 3650 512MB DDR2 - http://www.ebuyer.com/product/140617 - £35.23
HDD - Samsung HD753LJ 750GB - http://www.ebuyer.com/product/139739 - £58.74
DVDR - Optiarc AD-5200A-0B 20X DVD±RW - http://www.ebuyer.com/product/138750 - £14.36
RAM - OCZ 2GB Kit (2x1GB) DDR2 800MHz - http://www.ebuyer.com/product/116755 - £29.77

GRAND TOTAL = £386.42

and that saves me £100...not bad lol, same as last time, will that lot all work together aye?
if soo, i think thats my computer sorted...just need to wait on my money from college coming
through.

You should try and get a nice brand for the heatsink, I'd suggest Coolermaster :)

Also for the paste,
