i was just showing you what you could have for going a little over your budget :)

could swap the quad core for a c2d,that wouls bring the price down a bit.

right....time to mix things up a bit...ive got the finished (i think) list of what to get for my pc...
but ive just been and had a look on pc world....

all i need to know is which is better, my proposed pc or THIS

theres less than 20 quid difference soo the price doesn't matter....

your own is better, the graphics card on the packard bell is rubbish. but the prices you gave aren't correct, the gpu costs 111 pounds not 35,...

better make sure it's right before you order double of what you wanted to spend :lol:

lol...forgot to change that, nah the grand total is correct (give or take £1) i just forgot to change the individual price...the RAM is probably wrong too.

grrrr...had to change the heatsink as the original one i chose isn't in stock anymore...
soo thats bumped the price up a wee bit.

fair point.... but is there any point in a quad-core on xp?? thought they were only really worth it on 64-bit vista??

quad core on xp yes. and whats wrong with saving for a bit and upgrading then.
quad core is much more future proof

all for 50quid more?

if yer gonna build my advise is to do it right, make sure it lasts you ;)

the HX psu is better than the TX to but both will do the trick,im a big fan of corsair psu's as its served me well so far :)

right...i get the point.

when i get my first payment for my student loan through (shoulda got it on monday but noooo)
ill order everything on my list but the mobo and quad core you've said flatline. im gonna stick with
my psu as you've just said it will do the job...and it's cheaper. i imagine this pc won't be upgraded for a year or 2 at least...ive got my xbox 360 for getting new games...

can't be assed updating the list ive done it that many times...but it should come out around
£530 ish....
