Post subject:  The magical gaming laptop

I need help with choosing a gaming laptop, the specs are lost on me because I don't know how they relate to real world performance, especially the GPUs. Specifically I need a laptop that can handle Unreal Tournament 3 fairly well on high settings and I'd really like a 17" screen. I don't really want to spend more than £800 (No one does) and I'm happy to buy second hand/refurbished as long as it works.

This thing will be going to Canada with me and I'll really need it for level design (hence the big screen, less squinting) in Unreal 3 (Hence why I need to run it very well on high)

Unreal 3 isn't the most demanding game, well, compared to recent games.

The recommended specs are:
2.4Ghz dual core
1Gb ram
Nvidia 7800GTX+ or ATI x1300+

Any help would be appreciated thanks

From past experiences with Toshbia laptops I think they do some pretty heavy duty stuff...

http://www.dabs.com/products/toshiba-a1 ... refs=50540

http://uk.computers.toshiba-europe.com/ ... s/1055259/

I think in some ways the first two are very similar and the last one is a toshiba gaming machine.

Take a look and see what you think

Base your searches around these if it helps.
