Post subject: LCD-TV for my console games Posted: Thu Jun 09, 2005 3:07 pm |

Ive been using a crappy old tv for years so ive decided to go out and get something decent.
This is what ive found and more than likely gonna buy:http: http://www.dealtime.co.uk/xPF-26PF8946
Has anyone here got the same model or something similar? Is it good for console games?
The onlt thing that bothers me about this particular review is "TV’s only key flaw, smearing over motion, kicks in"????? ??????? Would this affect the quality of my games while playing?
If you can suggest something better please post a link
Thanks to anyone who can help

Cant help I'm afraid...
I'll probably spend most of the weekend wandering around TV shops trying to decide LCD/Plasma/DLP myself.
I'm sure if it displays fast moving TV pictures OK, it will be fine for games.

Kaldru=GCHQ=: I agree
I was able to try out the tv lastnight and i have to say i wasnt impressed
Tv signal: rubbish.
Dvd's: fantastic on this tv. The quality of the picture was great so watching dvd's on it would be fine.
Gameing: at first i wasnt impressed at all with the picture, it was fuzzy and very blurred and there was problems around small details like eyes and hands etc. Then one of the guys in comet recommended the new scart cables for the ps2 (also available for xbox) and it did improve the picture quality hugely around the small details and alot of other things but it was still very blurred.
I havnt bought one yet as i dont think i should spend that type of money on something that isnt very good for my main purpose, gameing.
So unless i go out and spend half the price on a big bulky tv which i didnt really want it looks like im gonna be sticking with my old tv for now.
Please post if you can recommend anything else.
Cheers

I dunno?
I was able to try out the thomson lcd-tv they had there too and that was slightly better with quality and it had more connections at the back.
If im lucky there will be a lcd-tv that can produce a better, sharper image for my games compared to what ive seen.
Have you been able to ask your friends at work to see what they say??

ok i had a word and they have said dont bother ur better off with a glass (crt normal tv) rather than lcd or plasma for using a console on .Plasma tv is dead already so if ur gonna get one go with lcd ,however previous post have stated its not really worth getting one for a year or two anyway.I spoke to 3 guys from a company called Vestel which is in Turkey they are the largest manufacture of tvs(most brands use them) in europe if not the world ,even they said dont bother yet ...well thats through the interpretor who is ...well fit ..she could tell me anything id believe her hope that helps you
