That's a fancy mouse. I've got the Mx1000 one, nice but not nearly so nightrider as that one (the battery lights are green for a start)

Will any of the new laser mouses come in a symmetrical model like e.g MX 310 for both right/left handed?
Do you really need those kind of mice if you're not a CSS player?

My favourite mouse of all time was the previous generation Microsoft Intellimouse Explorer Wired Version.
It was;
Had great tracking (believe me when I say I can tell the difference) Had 5 buttons, (Two being thumb buttons on the left hand side which I loved)
Expensive game oriented mice offer no advantages as far as I can see (although i've never spent more then an hour with one). I once played with one that had a vibrating buzzer built in, (great for playing Black and White, awful for anything else).
My favourite mouse broke however, now I am stuck with a newer microsoft intellimouse. Even though it has all the same attributes as the old one they changed it so it was more symetrical and had a button on either side rather then two on the left of it. Although you can hit the one on the right with your little finger or finger next to it, I feel it isn't as comfortable as moving up a little with your thumb to hit another button.
Subnote: I have a little tip that may effect some people here. Remember when windows XP first came out and everyone complained that they could no longer aim in Counter Strike? Well it turned out that it was because windows XP has some new fangled mouse smoothing and mouse acceleration features. This quickly became apparant and people shut it off so it felt more like windows 98.
Well I for one left it on, and I am glad that I did. It means you can spin arround fast yet also have great slow speed accuracy.
As an example, I can move my mouse one inch to the right nice and slowly and barely move the crosshair in game (nice smooth precision). Yet if I move it the same one inch to the right rapidly I can turn the crosshair 90 degrees. Just takes time to get used to it.
