k so i've finally had enough of my crappy old pc and feel its time for a new one, i already have a nice keyboard/mouse/tft moniter so it's just the box bit i need to get. funkus is no help coz he built his computer from scratch and i have no intrest in that so i turn to you all for help! i just need a computer with a decent graphics card/ ram/ processor with windows xp etc all the normal stuff, not too pricey but i don't really know where to start and how much it should cost so hopefully 200-400 but if thats too low to get decent stuff then i'll just have to stick with me old one as i'm not made of money!
don't really know where to start looking, i went to the dell website but couldn't really find anything suitable so any suggestions wuld be greatly appreciated (although try not too be too computer speaky coz i might not understand....!)

It would work out much cheaper for you for fUNKUS to build it from scratch for you.
What stuff do you want to use it for?

It'd cost you far less to get it built by Funkas, I think when I was building mine three years ago it cost me £600 for my box... but I did go for a stupid Shuttle... so if you stick with standard stuff and good hardware not the flashy looks on cases etc, then yeah, you'll be able to do it for about £400-£550 for a fairly reasonable Gaming PC if Funkas builds it for you. 0.o

I'd see what you could salvage from your old PC. Hard drives at least would prob save you a little bundle.

All of the above. Only rich ppl like Glasgow and Wow can afford to buy computers off the shelf. I'd save money by buying upgradable stuff, the motherboard is key there.
Get Fungus to do it and if he refuses dump him and get Glasgow to make it instead

Lol.
Pah i thought id get out of having to build this one but im already fixing this one and planning another so why not hehe the more the merrier. Doh!
Her current system is only office worthy, fairly weak intel chip, cheap mobo and a hard drive that ive already had to ressusiate a few times. I'll get her a decent amd and make a reliable little machine.

thanks for ur helpful advice, i guess if it's cheaper for funkus to build it i'll have to ask him, i'm just really impatient and just want to go to a shop buy one and plug it in. i witnessed him building his pc and it looked like a real pain in the arse! nevermind i better put on my nagging shoes and start pestering him to build it!
