It works but... If i have been playing CSS, then quit

and then try run DC, it always says Not responding and will not load the game. dont send etc..

the other alternative is that it shows an error message box

heres the message
Image

Not really sure the cause of the problem?

it works if i restart my pc....

I'm a little concerned it's my RAM dieing in accordance with this google search http://www.updatexp.com/0xC0000005.html

Not to mention, i always end up restarting my pc before loading up and playing a game, because my pc seems slow or unresponsive unless i do, bit laggy in game, lower fps.

I have also seen it do a similar thing with photoshop before..but this is consistant every time.

Anyway, it's a pain in the arse having to restart the pc

any suggestions

I went through exactly the same thing when my RAM was dying. My computer was playing up in other ways so it could have been a number of things in my case.

Memtest to see if it is the RAM? It found my duff RAM and when I took it out, fixed all the problems (though then meant I couldn't run any games as I had too little RAM in, so, not entirely clear if it solved all of the game related problems).

swap your memory sticks around - see if it breaks CSS too
I'd guess its a memory fault

right, it seems to be working now... but for how long  I just gave the disc a clean, swapped round

Although it was being a bit weird about the CD not being in the Drive... ??? for ages.. i think it was looking for Drive D when it should have been looking for my second drive (f)...

ram test showed no errors, only passes..

will post if i get more errors

i examined for cracks but didnt see any, nor are they scratched too much either..i'd say they are in pretty good condition

question though: I have deluxe edition and the original bf1942 edition.
Deluxe edition installed, but i have 1/2 discs of the original bf1942 edition because i broke 1 of them years ago.

I will probly be able to use the original disc if i tried + the other 3 discs that came with deluxe edition..?

so i think i'll be fine for a while, if that is the cause of the problem :)
