i use outlook express, very easy to use and i like it
at home and some other places i can receive and send emails without any probs
but
at my GF's place, i can only receive emails and not send any, i always get server error crap
back home everything works fine
she has a router, no firewall thing, all ports opened
so any friendly advice would be nice

What provider are you using? Can't you use web mail? Does the outgoing server need SMTP authentication?

from there point of view your trying to relay so they block it
thats because your connecting from a external network and there is no way to authenticate you unless they use AMS , webmail will work because its on there system
receiving mail is np , its the sending
