shuffle = most pointless mp3 player

every damned mp3 player will have a random feature - why deny yourself a screen

My Zen is a diamond - sound quality much better than my daughter's iPod Nano, but hers is wafer thin and mine's as big as a digital camera, so it's a lot more cumbersone if you're out and about. Struggled earlier this year finding legal MP3 downloads that would work on the Zen as iTunes only supports ( atm) iPod's. ( I recommend napster!)

Zen positive attributes - kudos that it's not an iPod, beautiful sound quality (ok, I upgraded to Sennheiser earphones as well ), lots of space. 24 hour battery life ( yes, it does last 24 hrs.)

iPod - physical size, i-Tunes.

No mate, it is NOT.

The shuffle is made as a Mp3 player, where form factor is important.
It is made for people who use it when they do sports, where they cant break it, if they loose it out of their hand.

If you loose one of the normal/nanos, they screen are likely to break.

So when you buy a shuffle, you know there is no screen, and you couldn't care less. Because all music you happen to have, you actually do like.
