Yeah, just some versions of P95 crash with AMD and some with Intel etc, so unless you try loads you can't tell.
A DVD rip followed up with a 700MB divx encode is good for stressing out, or maybe a 32M superpi.

try some of these things
check your ram out, run memtest86.iso (burn as disc image, runs automatically at boot) will see if your ram/processor/mobo has any obvious faults
and then i can only think it may be a driver or graphics card problem...
then im dont know
