just get the £40 asrock mobo i have with AGP too then you want have to get a PCI-E
http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/ProductI ... tID=291356
you can then save on £90 for the graphic card and get it later but still upgrade to the 3700 and get a gig of ram.

Ah thankyou Scorched! I heard about those boards I've never been able to find one, especially with 939 processor support.
Add this to the basket and it comes in at £99, which I can actually afford, keep my GFX card for now, and just get Ram later.

It's the same GHz as my processor now, but being a 64, I'll see an iimprovment right?

Now that looks good, and at £10 more it still just falls beneath what I can spend on this kinda thing.

Remember the 3700 is OEM though, so you'll need a heatsink too. Unless your current one supports 939 ofc.

Damn Firearms that looks sweet, a lot better than my half a sleep suggestion.
The CPU though is
Quote: AMD Athlon 64 3700+ San Diego (Socket 939) - OEM (CP-150-AM) AMD's Athlon 64 is the latest evolution in the desktop computer industry. With its revolutionary 64bit architecture this CPU is fully compatible with future 64 bit operating systems and offers blistering performance in current 32 bit applications. With AMD's new HyperTransport technology and a massive 1MB L2 cache. San Diego core incorporates SSE3 technology into the Athlon 64 platform which increases performance levels.
(If thats what you mean..)
But I don't mind about cool and quiet, my PSU blocks out practically every noise in the room (No room to install the control panel, so it's on full blast all the time) so it doesn't have to be that quiet at all, just as long as it keeps my CPU cool.

Get it anyway. It'll keep your chips cooler than Pingu drinking liquid nitrogen slammers.

for agp gfx the best bet is 6800GS, or higher GS. Its the last round for agp though so you should realy consider a new mobo. Prices are set to drop alot over the next month or so with the launch or AM2 and Core 2.
So best quick fix is gfx.
