Something that'll do for gaming but more for general purpose

but im no expert. Would like one that would be sufficient to be used as a TV too.

Nah, the one I posted wouldn't be any gud for games, you want as low ms as possible. Overclockers ones are much better...

I still think the: 'Samsung 19" LCD Syncmaster 940BF (TCO-99, DVI-D, D-sub, 2ms)" is a good one.... although it is 19 inch

thanks dan just reminded me about tv at uni i'm not taking my TV but will i still need to pay license fee as my graphics card has a TV tuner???

yup, the license is for any (active) device with tv reception capabilities.
