Had this message twice now in the last 3-4 days:

Image

First time was playing PoE2, and again just now on CS:S. Both times the screen has died and I've had to reset the machine to get it back, at which point it comes up with this message.

Anyone else seen this before? Is it lying?

I'm running a 500w PSU which should be enough for my system, unless it's on the way out of course... :?

Can't remember offhand, got it from PC World about a year ago when my previous one went bang.

It's a Gainward 7800GT 512mb jobby, got it's own power supply which is definitely plugged in!

The system's been fine and stable for months, been playing games, making maps and movies and had no trouble at all until these 2 incidents... :?

i use asus probe  to monitor voltages, temps & fan speeds, is there not an app from your mobo makers website that could do the same?

or you could try a psu tester from maplins for about £13 :?

try Everest Home Edition

Yeah think I got to get the credit card out... I've tried re-wiring the power plugs so that the 2 that go into the card aren't supplying anything else, will see if that works first... :?

ezer - simple. Bit of a PSU guru im afraid (silent pc review bod b4 gchq)

The amps on your rails are crap.
You do need a decent branded PSU - you are looking 80-90 quid upwards tbh.

In all honesty you can't go wrong with one of these:

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/acatalog/ ... plies.html

I have one I got about 6 months ago, because of the exact same problem you have here. They are easy to fit look smart and the wiring is really tidy. Awesome psu :) And get this they are no on this site for £30 less than what I got mine for

Mines the second one down on the list :P

Ive got that one too (black, without UV cables, but basically the same).

Never had a problem with it, it helps with case cooling but is still quite as its got a big 120mm fan on it. Plus its see through :D
