When press releases were first being bandied about for the Wii, they were showing some odd looking 3D headsets.
This headset consisted of 2 cameras mounted on the front of it, which were then processed by the computer and then shown to yourself on 2 little screens within the headset.
What it did was take what you were seeing, tables, chairs, walls etc... and then putting it's own textures on to them.
So if you can imagine yourself wandering around your own home, but everything looks completely different ie. all of a sudden your home became a haunted mansion or a spaceship or whatever, and you had stuff jumping out from behind the settee that was trying to kill you!!!
Imagine playing CSS for example where you are walking around your own home using this headset with computer generated people sneaking up on you and you having to hunt them down and kill them first.
How amazing would that have been? _________________  LINUX : If it was any good, they'd charge for it. I want to die peacefully in my sleep just like my Grandad, not kicking and screaming like his passengers...

I still have the mag from 1987 (Ace - Advanced Computer Entertainment) where they suggested stuff like this using the new Virtual Reality developments at the time.
20 years later and I hope it works this time ! Sounds great
