small issue to resolve in hope maybe someone knows how to fix

at random intervals the image on the television blanks out to a black screen for a brief period of 1-2 seconds when a program is running (not when changing channel) almost as if it is checking for the Screen Res

it doesn't do it more than once every 20-40 mins but it does do it on all channels, regardless of HD being displayed on screen not i.e. Standard Definition and High definition

The t.v. is a sony KDR-P42XS1, flat panel - Sony plasma widescreen 42"

had it about 2 years (ages before HD came out)
going in by the HDMI for HD format into the skyHDbox, receiving HD signal fine (had HD since Day 1 of launch) bought via internet retailer.

I enquired about this here..
http://www.avforums.com/forums/showthre ... eyparkster

and was directed here to investigate further...read the thread and didn't see a resolution.
http://forum.digitalspy.co.uk/board/sho ... p?t=382995
(this forum is currently down by the way)

it's a long shot i know, but anyone have any idea how to fix this issue?

Stop spamming both of you...

What have you done to try to fix the problem yourself? Oo00o0o Caps to the model number? Not good enough.

i am under the impression based on that digi spy forum that the t.v. requires a software/firmware update...

question is how..?

i have memory stick access slot to the t.v. and a memory stick writer/reader/copier for the pc, so i think i'm equipped

i think it's a matter of seeing if there is an update for my model of t.v to resolve this known issue on the net somewhere..

where is the update, is there an update?

Its a Sony. It's prolly uploading you bank account details and is too busy to be bothered showing the program.

Sry I'll get me coat.
