can this cause blue screens?
i installed it a few weeks ago, but i'm trying to do process of elimination
keep gettitng blue screens
i ran memtest86.iso..let it cycle through 2 and a half tests. no faults in ram
when i started windows i got like 10 pop up windows saying.. serious error occured in windows - recovered from serious error
gives Hex codes, said it was caused by a device driver
i know that daemon tools does something to the kernel - but not sure, something to do with debugging

i know starforce can give you a world of pain when it detects deamon tools, but saying that it normally stops your cd rom from working.
EDIT:but it doesnt seem to give blue screens

Auto restarts are alternatives for blue screens
go to control panel, system, advanced, startup and recovery settings,
untick automatically restart.. you should see blue screens next time..
also if it is pointing you towards bios updates saying it will fix the problem then it's worth doing..

so when i uninstall it, it will undo any changes it has made to the 'kernel' and anything that is important to the o/s ?

far as i know you cant do out to the kernel in windows - if your getting kernel errors it sounds more than deamon - might be wrong though. i though the unistall proccess just removed dll`s / files / reg stuff

when you install it, it says something about doing stuff to the kernel, just curious as to whether it is reversable, i'd of thought it was.

You can uninstall it fine.
And yes, it can cause problems. Daemon Tools is root to all evil.
