Ok, so I'm looking for a graphics card to suit the PC I'm going to build, I don't really want to spend anymore than £200 on it, but if it's a little more, I guess I can stretch my money.

So far what I've been looking at is: http://www.novatech.co.uk/novatech/spec ... -795gt&P=1

But... what is your opinion about that card and which card would you recommend instead...?

And before anyone says can you stretch £400+ for an 8800GTX. The answer is no, as much as I'd like one but no. :(

the Gainward Bliss have very good reviews

http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/ProductInfo.asp?WebProductID=479173

Does take up two slots, but comes overclocked

Hmmm... for the extra £7 I can save myself ordering it online or traveling 300 miles, lol

Thanks for the info, that card looks beasty :)

EDIT: Wonder what it overclocks like. XD. Just wondering if the fan would be able to take the heat or if the heatsink is large enough, can't really see with that grid covering the card. :(

Also would it be worth looking into the one with 512MB RAM rather than the factory Overclock...?

I recommend buying the ATi X1900 XT...Absolutely amazing card, beats the pants off nearly everything in that range.

If you look around you can get the HiS X1900 XT 512Mb version, which comes overclocked and fantastically cooled, for around 200 pound...I got mine for 220 quid in September, off Overclockers UK... :D

Will look around for you... :D

Two different reviews and 3Dmarks...Both showing the X1900 XT beating the 7950GT... :D

I'd recommend you use a proper review to compare X1900XT and 7950GT, like http://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/2006/1 ... 6mb/1.html

3dMark is a waste of time.

tomshardware has tons of benchmarks

beware the 512mb card - only get 512 mb on the top models, the 7900GT probs couldn't handle it

I was looking at the 7950GT in particular and thought that maybe the 512MB might be better. o.o

I prefer nVidia for some reason, don't know why, just me ^ ^;

ATi I feel isn't as solid of a brand. Everyone I ask about the quality of their nVidia graphics cards give me good feedback except maddog who hates his lately because it's dieing (I think it's the conditions his lives in XD).

Anyways, I feel more confident about buying an nVidia and usually find that I'm more satified. Also been looking around and the X1950XT is about £50-£100 more expensive than the 7950GT. But who knows, if I don't build until January... maybe the bits will have either come down or be in the sale? XD
