then it'll look like crap automatically

(unless he has a decent one but still ...)

and do you have a hd tv or not? as if you don't it'll be on 640x480 which ofcourse won't exactly look as good as a regular screen :/

say your tv is 24inch, you gavent said size, the resolution is 640x480 so thats one reason it looks shabby. Also i found the old crt style tvs seem to produce a fuzzy picture when using a pc.

just get a HDTV, minr looks fine when i hooked it up to that, though i didnt find it practical :)

Do you have to make your TV the primary monitor to play games on it or is there a way around this? I use a normal TFT Monitor for my PC but linked the CRT TV through S-Video, just wondering if theres a way because I have a few games that you can play on playstation but for PC ^ ^; (But I don't really want to make the TV the primary monitor)

EDIT: Also the picture we see WILL vary from what you see, mainly because when you do screen dumping it doesn't take a picture of the screen it actually takes the picture directly from the drawing of the GFX Card. But I think I understand your problem, happens with my CRT unless watching movies :3

most tv's including hd tv's dont support high resolutions for pc's.
The majority will only do 800x600 to 1024x768 even if they are capable of displaying a hd program, mostly because the image is interlaced.
My projector is an 1080i system which means hd films are shown at 1920x1080 interlaced, but the maximum resolution i can use with the pc is 1280x720, which isnt bad, providing you are using a vga or hdmi connection. if you are using the s-video then you wont get good results
