Hello lad and ladies, as i've mentioned in other posts, in about 6 months i WILL be cycling the length of the country. Thats right John O Groats ta landsend in 12 days to raise money for Luekimia Research. Now it may not sound like much but this is gonna be bitching for me cos i aint that much of a serious cyclist. This leads me to the point of the post I NEED a new bike. One that is capeable of this task and that i can also use when i go to uni in september. I haven't got a clue where to start looking which is why i'm asking you guys, if you could recomend any good makes or delears (Would have to be in scotland tho). Nothing thats gonna cost more than a grand tho i don't want to spend rediculous amounts on the bike. Any help is greatly appreachiated.

P.S I didn't know where to post this so mods feel free to move it.

P.P.S Yes i know i can't spell ta save myself

Get something like that..

- Lightweight
- Cheap
- Decent suspension

I'd say all that was key :).

Why not try speaking to UK bike builders and seeing if they'll loan you one with sponsorship......they may even let you keep it ;)

Code:
http://www.bikes-dolan.uk.com/en-us/dept_75.html

Dolan's are based near Liverpool I think, but there's no problem mailing bikes......

Write to them with a detailed letter about what your up to and see if they like the idea - you'd get a very pucker bike out of it - they make the finest in the UK in my opinion.

They just swapped a mate of mine's frame for free after 6 months cos he wasn't quite happy with the size!!!

Worth a try & Good luck.

My mate and his now wife rode to China. Ya Rly. Took em longer than a few days though, they had their bike custom made. I'd ask them were they got the bike from but have lost contact since then.

Good luck Kungu

Hey up just one question. I've been looking at bikes and am unsure wether i should go for road, touring bikes or hybrid bikes :?. I'm gonna be using it afterwards for city cycling when i go to university and probably long distance at the weekends. Christ there's soooooo many.
