Any ideas on this little number?

Dell quote £2500 for the box of tricks.

PROCESSOR Intel® Core™ 2 Duo E6700 Processor (2.66GHz, 1066MHz, 4MB)

MEMORY 4096MB Dual Channel DDR2 677MHz [4x1024] Memory

HARD DRIVE 500GB Serial ATA RAID 0 Stripe [2x250GB 7200rpm drives with DataBurstâ„¢ cache]

OPTICAL DRIVE 16X DVD+/-RW Drive

GRAPHICS CARD DUAL 512MB ATI® Radeon® X1950XTX

PHYSICS PCI CARD 128MB Ageiaâ„¢ PhysXâ„¢ physics accelerator

SOUND CARD Sound Blaster® X-Fi Xtreme Music PCI

Is it worth it?

Just a quick glance but looks a little pricey to me, for £2500 I'd probably look more at building the system myself as well tbh, that way you can really pick out a good brand of motherboard, card etc.

If you are willing to spend that kind of money for a new PC, you should just go and build it yourself.

What are you planning to run on the ageia. I am sure there is stuff that does run on it.

if you have that cash to spend, build it yourself. You will end up with a much much better system.

Its defo got some of the latest stuff although personaly i believe the physics card is a waste of money atm. Nothing really supports it. Plus ATI are talking of enabling physics in crossfire setups. (1 card normal, 1 card physics)

thanks for your input.

I will look into building my own. Only play DC, but my settings at the moment are on low.

Also plan to play flight sim X so want the highest spec graphics and processor.

for 2500 you could hace 8800gtx in sli and a quad core cpu.

also a single 8800gtx is only just slower than 2 ati on crossfire.

you dont need 4gig of ram either. :)

Aye building your own is the best option.....but if your no good at computers then Alienware is the best way to go.....(well second really, depends if you could get a neighbour geek to build one for you)

Building your own does get you more value for money.

Build your own for that price, you can get much better parts than what they are offering you for 2500.

For a start... my comp would probs kick that ones butt other than the CPU and slightly more RAM (bout £350 more than my total cost?)

I paid £1000 for mine and my specs aren't far from that. I think if you bought from them, you'd be throwing 1000+ away.

Also, you could go mega power and get an SLi system with the latest cards and decent parts, rather than the crappy ones they're gona put into it.

Peh... PC5300. *spits on the RAM* >.>
