i wondering if any of you guys know of a piece of software that will measure my hardware usage while running a program. I want to know what partof my system is under stress as i play the new command and conquer so i can upgrade the right to get the game running full speed ahead.
i have a dual core pent d 920 2*2.8ghz
2gb ddr 533mhz ram
ATi x850xt pro platinum 256mb

all with latest drivers and xpsp2 etc

http://www.passmark.com/products/pt.htm will do a thorough benchmark

You could always just use performance manager (built into XP)
That will so you disk queues, memory paging, cpu use etc etc

Looking at your brief spec there i'd say the next thing on your list should be a graphics card, mind you saying that you might have a steam powered hard drive :D

got a sata 2 300mbps 7200rpm 300gb HDD. so if i start running the game, then alt tab and run a benchmark while the game still running then go back to playing while it runs that would give me what i wanna know right?
