So dopes that mean if you had the choice you would spend the extra £50 quid on a 6600 chip or stick with a 6400 chip. (sorry for thread hijack btw).

Depends how you feel about overclocking. Saving the extra money on something that you could easily gain without the extra cash is nice.
There isn't alot of difference between the 2MB and 4MB, minimal performance difference apparently.
So if you wanna save youself the money, go for an E6300 or E6400 and overclock it. Just be sure to read up before overclocking and get a decent CPU Heatsink.

the difference in stability between the 6300 and 6400 is going to be pretty marginal too - depends on the price difference tbh. That said, my 6300 can cope with pretty much anything you throw at it without OCing

Gah...more stuff added >.<
I'd like to get the stuff ordered tonight......but I want to know the exact set up to go for.....
If the setup there will provide good FPS in games....run well and leaves the way open for future upgrades without replacing the whole thing...then it's fine.
Just want to get it and play a game without anything wrong with it... (CSS lag.....DC sound problems, BF2 actually play it...etc)
Price really isn't bothering really, I'd rather get the 6600 as I wouldn't want to over clock it at this time...
Don't want to see my first actually comp go poof from making a mistake.

I'd think about changing the mboard from the Abit one, I'm going for an Asus P5b for a similair setup. Always found Asus boards to be rock solid.

I always had a bad impression of Asus, but only cos my asus mobo had a Via (cringe) chipset...

Had three now, two on old pc's that have been given away and are still running fine, which makes one of them about 8yrs old or more, (had a early celeron chip), all of them have been really good performance wise, well behaved boards, last two have been Nforce chipsets, cant remember the first.

Case = Oh yes!!!
Lovely case
However!
With my mobo, I didn't use the brass spacers and so my graphics card doesn't fit right (atleast I don't think so, wil have to try new one once it arrives) so some back plate snipping may be required........depends on your mobo though.
My mob if I had it on brass spacers would make the slots too high for case's backplate.
Very nice case though, really good air flow nice and sturdy looks good too.
You also get a little mat to put in the little bay at the top.
As I said about graphics though......it may have gone in right but it's not a PCI card so it won't work.
So the card might actually go in no bother really and it was just the fact it's wrong type of card that stopped it working.
