basically...i cant afford to get a decent computer at the moment, when i can i plan on building one from pretty much scratch...at the moment, ive got this ok pc 2.4Ghz intel celeron, 480MB ram...decent hard drive, the only problem with it at the moment is it has onboard graphics  im looking to buy a mid priced graphics card to help it out...break into the real games world hopefully. i went on ebay and found the one in the name of the thread (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/SAPPHIRE-RADEON-9 ... dZViewItem)

but is it any good is the question?? if not can you reccomend any better
*PCI* cards for around 40 squid??

Yea dude I had that card going for awhile and it's pretty lame, only runs upto direct x 8, but I guess since you only play Runescape and stuff thats not such a problem :D..

If you wanna play other games like CnC 3 / CSS etc get a direct x 9 card at least, so..I dunno, 9600 series radeon or a 6600 series nvdia should cut it.

This perhaps, cheaper and better, http://murl.se/23938

Or you could experiment and get something random like this http://murl.se/23939 :D

If you don't have an AGP slot or PCI-e slot, the 9250 is probably the best PCI card you're going to be able to get, that or the Geforce FX 5500 256MB.
They should both play CSS but not BF2/BF2142.
Or buy a new motherboard/PC.

well you see...heres the problem, im 15..soo obviously no income for me, im 16 in may...ill start getting EMA from school in august and ill probably grab a summer job somewhere...soo for the moment its just the family pc i have to use...luckily its just me and my mum. i opened it up last night and had a look...all it has is 2 PCI slots...soo its gonna hafta be a PCI card for now..and also the only reason im really wanting it is soo that i can play gunz on a bit higher rez and that (got it set to optomize) and start playing CSS. soo if i can get something that will play CSS im sorted.

Well yea the 9250 works ok on CSS..I managed to kill some people with it I think, FPS is around 15-30 though depending on how good your CPU is.

If you can find a 9250 256mb or a GeForce 6200 256mb then that is the best you can get for a PCI slot, but then you are looking nearer £50.

natt, how the heck did you find them?? i was sitting on google for ages trying all combinations of searches...almost everytime just being shown PCI-E cards...both of em look great, but which one would you guys reccomend from the 2?? im guessing the 6200 (purely becuse its more expensive) but do you think the 9250 would run CSS without any problems?? if the 9250 will run CSS then ill go for that one...obviously as its the cheaper option...ill wait and see what you lot say on the 2 though.
