oh yeah well ... this happens like once i join .. i play for like 2-10mins and BAM!... i have the typical crash ... like the screen freezes and i hear the action that is going on over and over again.....like constant reloading : "ticktickticktickticktick" .. then either 2 things happen:

1- CS eventually shut down and it takes a while for my desktop to fully load .. back ..... then i get that error of "failed to lock ...blalbla"

2- It keeps going in an infinite loop ... and i get Blue Screen Of Death with the message: "You computer has been shutdown to avoid Windows getting serious damage (or soemthing) .... error of infinite loop ..nv4_disp"

====
no.2 happens like twice a week
no.1 can happen like 10 times in a row ..or just once while i am playing ...but it happens every single time

i tried googling the error of "Failed to lock...." and the nv4_disp ......and steam say that the first one is because of alt+Tab switching ..ur videocard cant handle that much strain ... but its ridiculous cuz i dotn alt+tab switch ever ,....... as for the Nv4_disp i did what a couple sources recommended....i unstalled my video card using Driver Cleaner Pro and then updated it .... that usually prevents crashing for like 3-4days ...apart from that nothing much ....i reinstalled CS and that stopped crashes for about 3days ....
=======

All my GAME settings are default ... except i removed HDR ./..

are there any background processes running that switch you to desktop? virus scan? daily downloads? just a thought - since it does appear that your pc believes you are either needing to come out the game or that youve pressed alt tab
:?

Yeap check that :D

Also if you can take the side of your case off, and have a look at the GPU Fan. Have a look if its spinning at all. I've had problems in the past like this and its simply cause the graphics card was overheating because the fan was broken.

Also worth cleaning out all the dust cos this stops airflow as well

Right this is easy, dont panic. :D Firstly get a philips head screwdriver.

Second have a look at the back of your pc, use this pic for ref
(http://www.networkmultimedia.org/Status ... ck_big.jpg)

You want to open the side which is the oposite side to the motherboard connections. So in the picture above that would be the top bit.

Once you have the side off, have a good blow to get all the dust out, don't whatever you do use a vacuum cleaner to do this. Make sure you clean all the fans in there.

Next turn the PC on and check that all the fans are spinning, your graphics card may not spin at first but if you load up CSS it should, so if it doesn't then its broke. Also ensure that the CPU fan and heatsink are clear of dust whilst u r in there. :D

Let us know if this helps

do what they said about looking for dust and checking temperatures..

but .... sometimes nv4_disp error blue screens are because of badly installed display drivers, did u install the new ones over the old ones??

try running registry mechanic and driver cleaner
then...install the latest nvidia drivers...if the problem persists.

also your processor.. u mean 1.4ghz?

4.4 is not on the market..
