I'm looking for something that will take the sound from my Creative X-fi ExtremeMusic and output it into my Motherboard's onboard SoundCard (Realtek). I'm hoping for something that will take all the features of my sound card and chuck them out through the MB and I know there may be latency issues.

Why would you want to do this ? Your Creative card is superior to your MB card.

you want to use the outputs that are on the motherboard right? Why though?

i guess so too
buy a decent creative soundblaster and youll be all set
every fancy external soundcard ( for producers etc) are reasons for complications in a lot of games

you should be able to have both installed together and just use the sound control panel to change the default.

im not sure if you can have an on board sound card+pci sound card function together in most cases. im not sure why you want to do what you say though?

Hoping to chuck the better sound from the X-fi straight to the optical out on the motherboard. x.x

lmao, might as well just buy a new sound system at that price. This one is old anyways. I could pay a bit more and get a better sound system that uses 3.5mm jacks or whatever. > . >

Thanks for looking though.

£20?

You can't beat a Creative Xi-fi for £20

http://www.google.co.uk/products?hl=en&q=creative%20xfi%20extreme%20music&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&um=1&sa=N&tab=wf

WHAT ARE YOU DOING MAN! MAKE SENSE!

You currently have an X-fi xtreme music...which doesn't have any optical outputs. You want optical outputs. For £20, you can get an optical output. But instead you want to get the next one up, which is at least £40, on the basis that its cheaper?

id have to agree, a sound card with optical out for £20 is an utter bargain. i remember paying through the nose for a soundcard with optical out only a couple of years ago.

Noooooes.... I'd be new speakers etc... ones that support 3.5mm jacks. I've had this problem a couple times and getting annoyed with it, so it'd probs just be easier. :?
