For some unknown reason my mac refuses to connect to the internet.... only its not that simple. ALL 3rd party software connects without a problem (hence this post using trust firefox) but apple apps do not... this includes apple update.
The network diagnostics saw the internet is still there and working so why won't all these applications connect? I have no care for safari et all but apple update would be nice.
Someone with a mac please heed my call

I suspect they all use a certain extension thats either missing or broke. Did it crash doing a recent update or anything?

Gawd people harp on about how great Macs are.
Mac user speak translated
"We don't get viruses!" - We can't even get negative attention and cry ourselves to sleep at night.
"The mac has superior graphical and musical creation suites"- But we still can't get Doom 3 to run properly on it
"It has a more user friendly interface"- Everything is on the side of the screen and we only have one button on our mouse.
"My Mac can't connect to the internet"- Windows doesn't BSOD as much as it used to... wonder how much a PC is
The above post is done in fun and if you are about to go RAR RAR RAR about my Mac Bashing then I suggest you direct all complaints to the nearest brick wall.

Mac bashing aside, how do i fix it? Apple total sum of knowledge on their site boils down to "download updates manually" which doesn't help.
Does someone here live in a city with a apple shop with those clever people in? Maybe someone could ask one of them

Dare I say it but the Windows bashing that Mac users do is 90% of the time in rebuttal to Mac bashing that Windows users do.....this being a case in point, though I shan't proceed to bash any OS...

tried that?

I can't check right now but will try that out..... then hopefully I can update the bloody thing.
Although I agree with alot of the mac bashing. as a laptop they work really well and contrary to the adverts I've found macs are better for work and PCs are better for play.

Things are pretty desperate for the "Microsoft Alternative" when it can't run OpenGL...

The shiny penny goes to Elbow for I have bitch-slapped the macbook into accepting the internet as its lord and savior.
Did anyone else read the news about the iphone ringtones.... they are locked down by apple so you have to spend a fortune on them... just like in the days before mp3 ringtones.
This is one of the many reasons why I believe the best music phones in the world are made by Sony Ericsson (e.g. the W960)... pitty about their walkmans and sonicstage(which I hear they are ditching Yipee!!!)
EDIT - do not worry mr forum moderator, the link connects to sony ericsson... which i think is ok.
